First off, we need to talk about yesterday. I got obliterated. It is hard to go 0-5, and somehow I did it, so let’s move on. Imagine if Rocky had given up against Ivan Drago; this is the kind of comeback we are about to see.
The 12 pm Wednesday game is one of my favorite games of the year because, as we saw Tuesday, those games get boring very quickly. They split their season series against each other, with those games back in December and mid-January. This Syracuse 2-3 zone is one of the worst defenses I’ve seen all year. If you have size over this Orange team, you will exploit them like we saw Duke do multiple times this year. If you can shoot the three-ball at a decent clip and have size, the Orange will have problems keeping up. The Seminoles have five players who shoot over 35% from three, and their size outmatches the Orange by quite a bit. I do not feel confident enough about the total.
Wake Forest won by 30 in their last meeting against the Eagles in Winston-Salem. I think we see a similar result in Brooklyn. If anybody watched the Tuesday games, I am sorry; secondly, you observed how terrible the bottom four in the ACC is. Wake matches up perfectly against this Boston College team, and Boston College has to play back to back while the Demon Deacons are fresh. Wake Forest will have a week’s worth of rest, and I understand people will claim they could be rusty, which is possible, but I trust ACC Coach of the Year Steve Forbes will have his guys ready. This game will most likely get turned off by the under 12 timeout in the second half. Once again, I’m not sure if Boston College can help the total enough, but I will stay away.
As expected, Clemson took care of business against last-placed NC State yesterday. Virginia Tech is currently the first four out, according to former Kast guest Joe Lunardi and the Hokies need to win against Clemson and Notre Dame to have a chance at the Tournament, in my opinion. Virginia Tech has been red hot lately, and I love them at 12/1 as a future to win the ACC Tournament, so I’m all over the Hokies. Clemson did not convince me enough against NC State, who is genuinely terrible. The total is so low that it makes me think the under hits, but life’s too short to bet the under. I think this game goes blow for blow with Virginia Tech hitting free throws to close out the game.
Louisville had a 27 point lead over the Yellow Jackets yesterday and somehow almost choked the game away. The total in this game is 122 will tell you everything. If you like watching fun basketball, this game is not for you. I think we will see a close game; I don’t see UVA having the capability to dominate an opponent with their few scoring options. I like Louisville covering the points and the under. Both teams will struggle to shoot the ball and have high defensive pressure.
