Iga Swiatek and Carlos Alcaraz Should Take Care of Business in the Quarterfinals

Iga Swiatek finally experienced her first wake-up call in this tournament in her last match against Jule Niemeier. She dropped her first set in this US Open and bounced back in the second set, winning 6-4, and then winning convincingly in the last set 6-0. She’s facing the only American remaining in the US Open. Pegula had a dominating performance winning in straight sets against Petra Kvitova. I believe Swiatek will be too much for Pegula to handle, but the spread of -3.5 is a lean, not an official play. Also, what a dumb question by the reporter.

Pick: Lean Iga Swiatek -3.5

Carlos Alcaraz -178 vs Jannik Sinner +148

These two played an electric match in the Round of 16 at Wimbledon which Sinner took care of business in four sets. Sinner leads 2-1 in head-to-head matchups against Alcaraz, but Alcaraz took the only match played on hard court. Carlos Alcaraz has been phenomenal in this year’s Open and won easily in his first three matchups. He had to dig deep in his last match against Martin Cilic, which ended in a five-set thriller that ended after 2:30 am ET. Carlos Alcaraz has been playing some of his best tennis, and I see this trend continuing. Sinner has only had one easy win in the tournament so far. The spread in this matchup is Alcaraz -3.5, which I also lean but would not make an official play.

Pick: Lean Carlos Alcaraz -3.5

The spreads in these matchups should hit, but I feel more comfortable parlaying the money lines together in this matchup. I believe both will win tonight, and this gives you plus odds as well.

Parlay: Swiatek ML/Alcaraz ML +141
