Just like that, we only have three weeks left in the regular season. It seems like just yesterday we were watching Nebraska/Northwestern play in Ireland. As of now, the College Football Playoff race is starting to take form, and the Heisman is anyone's for the taking. From this point forward, champions are made. Let's take a look at some of the biggest games of the weekend.
I don't personally have anything on this game, but if I did I would be all over Ole Miss. Alabama has looked like a completely different team on the road this season, and this is mostly due to the offensive penalties they commit when away. In their 4 away games, they have committed over 100 offensive penalty yards in 3 of those. Ole Miss has made due this season with their offense, and I would expect to see more of the same in this game. Ole Miss also has more for to play for, as they are still in the running for the SEC Championship.
Georgia is coming off of their biggest win of the season. Last week Stetson Bennett made his Heisman case for the country to see, and Tennessee came crashing down to Earth. Mississippi State has made a living in the air this season, and Wil Rogers boasts a great completion percentage. Not to mention, he leads college football in total pass completions. Georgia has only played two true away football games, one of those being a very close win against Missouri. I am going to play on Mississippi State here to keep this game close against a Georgia team coming off of a big win last week.
Baylor looks like a completely different team at home than on the road. Their defense at home has not allowed 380+ total yards this season, and Kansas State is the exact opposite. When KSU plays away, they have allowed 495+ total yards 2/3 times. In their game at Oklahoma, they gave up 87 defensive penalty yards. I am going to take the more disciplined team at home in this matchup.
