The Proprietary Wilkerson Ratings: Middle Ten Edition Week 9

The Ratings so Far

To this point, we have covered the worst of the worst in the National Football League. If you haven't read that, you can find it here.

As we dive into the next 10 teams, keep in mind these are determined using previous scores from this season and adjusted for injuries and rosters that are not considered healthy. Let's dive right in!

  1. Tennessee Titans

This one hurts being a Titans fan, but it's the truth. Their record is not indicitave of their talent and performance, as their last 5 wins came against Indianapolis (2x), Washington, Las Vegas, and Houston. All teams that were featured in yesterday's article. The pass defense has seen some improvement, but until Burks and Tannehhill are back this team is nothing to write home about. Even with Tannehill back, they need someone better at QB. As you can tell I am not a fan. What is Teddy Bridgewater up to these days with Tua back?

  1. Green Bay Packers

Another YIKES team this season! No one expected them to be this bad, but man have they struggled. Their run defense keeps them in games, but their offense has yet to get going. You have to wonder if the past years of Rodgers' issues with LaFleur and management are catching up to him.

  1. Jacksonville Jaguars

A big win against some bad teams help the Jaguars out here. Their running game has been a highlight of their offense, but that's about all they have. They also have one of the better run defenses in the league, they could provide some issues for the Titans down the line.

  1. Atlanta Falcons

Their offense puts them at this spot in the ratings. Their offensive line has done a great job protecting Mariota so far this season. For a team that was supposed to be in a complete rebuild, they have been a covering machine. Now if they could just get that defense figured out...

  1. Seattle Seahawks

Honestly, a lot of people are probably shocked to see Seattle here. Last season, Reno impressed me with his performance in lieu of Russell Wilson, and he continues to impress this season. When their receiving core is healthy, they could make a sun at the NFC West.

  1. Cleveland Browns

This team has performed extremely well to this point. Management could have a real problem on their hand when Watson comes back. Who knows what kind of shape he will be in when he returns? The Browns have 4 loses all within 3 points. Their record may not reflect a great team, but watch a game of theirs and you'll see they are better than what their record says. Not to mention, they have the best 1-2 punch at RB in the league.

  1. New Orleans Saints

Another team that has performed better than their record shows. Their QB dysfunction may cause some problems in the future, but for now that offense is clicking and Kamara is doing his job. Not to mention their defense! last week against the Raiders, Derek Carr did not play a snap in Saint's territory. Look out for this squad against the Ravens on Monday night.

  1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Their Week 1 against the Cowboys and close losses keep Tom and company at the top half of my ratings. This team will find its stride in the last half of the season, and probably take the lead of this weak division. Their experience on the offensive side of the ball with begin to show, and while they won't compete for a Super Bowl like years past, they will find themselves in playoff contention.

  1. New York Giants

I don't believe in this team at all. If you have taken a look at Action Network's luck ratings, the Giants are consistently at the top. Their performance is not sustainable, especially with their QB play. However, they have gotten to this point. I have to give them credit for that. Insert New York Giants fans:

  1. Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins are a top 3 team if Tua does not get injured. Their offense is one of the most explosive in the NFL, and their defense has been enough to get them by. Keep a lookout for this team late in the season. I projected this team to win the AFC East, and right now I will double down on that.

And that wraps it up. Stay tuned, tomorrow night we will round out the top 10!
